                       Bharti Airtel Limited formerly known as Bharti Tele-Ventures LTD (BTVL) is an Indian company offering telecommunication services in 19 countries. It is the largest cellular service provider in India, with more than 140 million subscriptions as of July 2010. Bharti Airtel is the world's third largest, single-country mobile operator and fifth largest telecom operator in the world with a subscriber base of over 180 million. It also offers fixed line services and broadband services. It offers its telecom services under the Airtel brand and is headed by Sunil Bharti Mittal. The company also provides land-line telephone services and broadband Internet access (DSL) in over 96 cities in India. It also acts as a carrier for national and international long distance communication services. The company has a submarine cable landing station at Chennai, which connects the submarine cable connecting Chennai and Singapore.
Vodafone



          Vodafone Group plc is a global telecommunications company headquartered in Newbury, United Kingdom. It is the world's largest mobile telecommunications company measured by revenues and the world's second largest measured by subscribers (behind China Mobile) with 347 million proportionate subscribers as at 30 June 2010. It operates networks in 31 countries and has partner networks in a further 44 countries. It owns 45% of Verizon Wireless, the largest mobile telecommunications company in the United States measured by subscribers. 
Aircel

          Aircel is a mobile phone service provider in India. It offers both prepaid and postpaid GSM cellular phone coverage throughout India. Aircel is a joint venture between Maxis Communications of Malaysia and Apollo Hospital Enterprise Ltd of India. UTSB has a 74% stake in Aircel and the remaining 26% is with Apollo Hospitals. It is India’s fifth largest GSM mobile service provider with a subscriber base of over 27.7 million, as of October 31, 2009. It has a market share of 12.8% among the GSM operators in the country. As on date, Aircel is present in 18 of the total 23 telecom circles (including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar & Jharkhand, Chennai, Delhi & NCR, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, Mumbai, North East, Orissa, Rest of Maharashtra & Goa, Rest of Tamil Nadu, Rest of West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West) and with licenses secured for the remaining 5 telecom circles, the company plans to become a pan-India operator by 2010. Additionally, Aircel has also obtained permission from Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to provide International Long Distance (ILD) and National Long Distance (NLD) telephony services. It is also a category A ISP. It is also having the largest service in Tamil Nadu.
Reliance

          Reliance Communications, formerly known as Reliance Infocomm, along with Reliance Telecom and Flag Telecom, is part of Reliance Communications Ventures (RCoVL).Reliance Communications Limited founded by the late Shri Dhirubhai H Ambani (1932–2002) is the flagship company of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group. The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group currently has a net worth in excess of Rs. 64,000 crore (US$ 13.6 billion), cash flows of Rs. 13,000 crore (US$ 2.8 billion), net profit of Rs. 8,400 crore (US$ 1.8 billion).The Equity Shares of RCOM are listed on Bombay Stock Exchange Limited and National Stock Exchange Limited. The Global Depository Receipts and Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds are listed on Luxembourg Stock Exchange and Singapore Stock Exchange respectively.
Idea

          Idea Cellular is a wireless telephony company operating in all the 22 telecom circles in India based in Mumbai. It is the 3rd largest GSM Company in India behind Airtel and Vodafone and ahead of state run player BSNL.
Tata Indicom

          Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) is a subsidiary of the Tata Group headquartered in Navi Mumbai, an Indian conglomerate. It operates under the brand name Tata Indicom in various telecom circles of India. In Nov 2008, Japanese telecom giant NTT Docomo picked up a 26 per cent equity stake in Tata Teleservices for about Rs 13,070 crore ($2.7 billion) or an enterprise value of Rs 50,269 crore ($10.38 billion). In Feb 2008, TTSL announced that it would provide CDMA mobile services targeted towards the youth, in association with the Virgin Group on a Franchisee model basis.
Tata Docomo

          TATA DOCOMO is a Tata Teleservices Limited's (TTSL) cellular service provider on the GSM platform-arising out of the Tata Group's strategic joint venture with Japanese telecom giant NTT Docomo in November 2008. Tata Teleservices has received a pan-India license to operate GSM telecom services, under the brand "TATA DOCOMO" and has also been allotted spectrum in 18 telecom Circles. TTSL has already rolled out its services in various circles. It offers both prepaid and postpaid GSM cellular phone with presence in 19 circles including Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Maharashtra & Goa, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, and West Bengal. It has become very popular with its one second pulse especially in semi-urban and rural areas. They are launching their service from the south of India to central, east and north.
Virgin Mobile

          Virgin Mobile is a brand used by many mobile phone service providers based in the United Kingdom and operating in Australia, Canada, France, India, Qatar, South Africa and the United States; the brand survived only briefly in Singapore. The international Virgin Mobile businesses each act as independent entities, usually in a partnership between Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group and an existing phone company. Virgin Group provides the brand, and the phone company operates the network infrastructure. Virgin Mobile was the UK's first Mobile Virtual Network Operator when it launched in the United Kingdom in 1999. It does not maintain its own network but instead contracts to use the existing network(s) of other providers.
MTS

          Mobile TeleSystems or MTS is the largest mobile operator in Russia and CIS with over 91.33 million subscribers as of July 31, 2008. Having started in the Moscow license zone in 1994, МТS in 1997 received licenses for further areas, and began expansion, later entering other countries of the CIS. On October 31, 2008, Vodafone announced a partnership deal with MTS, whereby Vodafone services will be available to MTS subscribers; some form of co-branding will follow, and both companies have noted the potential for more efficient purchasing.
BSNL

          Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (known as BSNL, India Communications Corporation Limited) is a state-owned telecommunication enterprise in India. BSNL is the third largest cellular service provider, with over 66.88 million customers as of June 2010 and the largest land line telephone provider in India. BSNL further plans to increase its customer base to 160 Million by March, 2014. Its headquarters are at Bharat Sanchar Bhawan, Harish Chandra Mathur Lane, Janpath, and New Delhi. It has the status of Miniratna, a status assigned to reputed Central Public Sector Enterprise in India. BSNL is India's oldest and largest Communication Service Provider (CSP). Currently has a customer base of 90 million as of June 2008. It has footprints throughout India except for the metropolitan cities of Mumbai and New Delhi which are managed by MTNL. As on June 30, 2010 BSNL commanded a customer base of 27.45 million Wireline, 72.69 million Wireline subscribers. BSNL's earnings for the Financial Year ending March 31, 2009 stood at INR 397.15b (US$7.03 billion) with net profit of INR 78.06b (US$ 1.90 billion). BSNL has an estimated market value of $ 100 Billion. The company is planning an IPO with in 6 months to offload 10% to public in the Rs 300-400 range valuing the company at over $100 billion.
Cellone

          CellOne is a mobile phone service provided by the Indian public enterprise BSNL. It provides pre-paid and post-paid mobile services as well as many value added services. CellOne has pan-India presence with presence in all the 22 telecommunication cellular circles in India. CellOne provides all of India with roaming access, including Delhi and Mumbai, and International roaming access to more than 300 networks across the world. Many private Telecom Operators have entered in Indian market and acquired many customers and have given stiff competition to Cellone in recent years. The major private players are Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Tata Communications, Aircel and many more. CellOne started their GPRS/EDGE service on 2005 and has coverage major cities and towns and more places are being covered. BSNL has now introduced 3G services: BSNL has started its 3G services before the allocation of spectrum to private operators in India. Other private players are expected to roll out their 3G services when they are allocated the spectrum for respective circles in 2nd half of 2010.
